Hello

I'm having trouble burning Diablo III. I have only burned one game before (Red Dead Redemption). I ran it through Abgx360, everything was green, expect it could verify it completely, since the game was still new, but I read it somewhere that it's not necessary to wait. On my first round I tried overburning, it gives a "Disc Unrecognised" error message. I guessed the problem was that I have to Truncate it, so I went ahead and burned it again. I could install it to my external hard drive without a problem, but when I try to launch it, it gives a "Disc not supported" error message. So, did I Ducked up this dvd too, or can I still fix it? Did the burning went wrong, or is the problem with the xbox?

Sadly I don't know my firmware version, and I don't know how to check it. My dashboard version is the latest.

Unfortunately truncated discs are not able to be used to boot from after installing a game.

The reason your abgx logs are giving these results is because it can only verify a full XGD2/3 burn, it will always show up errors on truncates or overburns.

Have you tried booting the overburn disc after installing the truncated disc to your HDD? Most newer games can only be overburnt now anyway, truncating is becoming more and more a thing of the past due to its incompatibility.

The xbox doesn't even recognise the overburned disc, it's just gives an error message. Also, tried uninstalling the game, then running the truncated disc, it's still gives me either "Disc is not supported" or "Clean the disk". The second one is probably the xbox fault, it's dvd driver is kinda shitty, sometimes it fails to read the disc, even mid-game, that's why I prefer installing the games to the HDD.

Also, I figured out that I accidentaly skipped the verifying part of the burning on both disc. My disc drive is also kind of shitty (no luck with these things) and it's need a little nod to close, it can't do it automaticly. When it tried to cycle it opened the drive, but failed to close it, and I just assumed it was ready. When burning RDR, I also assumed it was ready, but accidentaly noded the drive, and it closed, and started verifying. Could it cause the problem?

It looks like you have one of those burners that just wont properly burn an XGD3 disc, no matter what settings you try.

As for the verifying part, there is no point in getting imgburn to do this as it has no way of verifying the important stealth sector data, always use abgx for this as it will be quicker and produce more relevant results.

I also wouldnt worry about the physical "nod" that that you have to give your drive, probably a sticking tray belt or a slightly misaligned tray housing. Pretty common and should have no effect once the drive is closed.

You mentioned that your xbox dvd drive aint so good?

That will be crucial when coming to testing your burns - you could get all green on abgx and a decent burn report from ImgBurn but that does nothing when your xbox laser is on its way out!

You may need to invest in a new laser or a new dvd drive, but keep in mind if you get a new drive you will have to flash it with LT+ firmware again and transfer your dvd key from the original unit.

Good luck!

Yeah, looks like I need to invest in a new dvd burner, just looked them up, they aren't so expensive, but in the meantime, XGD2 games will do. And about the xbox drive, I'm not that worried, because it's seems like "just" a reading issue, and not affected by what kind of dvd is in the drive, usually opening and closing the tray solves the issue. What I worry about is how long will it last.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Can you try something? Follow this tutorial and convert your ISO to make it compatible with LT+2.0

http://xboxpirate.eu/forums/topic/3-how-to-convert-lt-30-iso-to-lt-20-compatible-iso/

When you have done that directly burn this converted ISO to a dvd by truncating it. Then try running the game and see if anything changes.

Thanks for the idea, gonna try it when I get some dvds.

EDIT: Okay, tried burning it with that method, but still no luck, it's still says "Disc is not supported". I'm gonna try to burn it at my friend, because his drive probably can burn with Burnermax.
